Social Responsibility
The GainingEdge Scholar programme provides purposeful work experience to students who demonstrate outstanding potential for future industry leadership.
How It Works
Every one to two years, we select a student to serve as the GainingEdge Scholar, providing not only practical work experience but a chance to network within the industry.
Students who wish to pursue careers in the business events and tourism industry, and demonstrate outstanding potential for future industry leadership, are encouraged to apply.
Academic institutions seeking to equip students with a meaningful work experience are also welcomed to partner with us in this program.
The Project
The GainingEdge team will work with the Scholar to develop a project that is both rewarding and exciting in scope. The projects include industry research, development of a final report, and should be of benefit to the industry as a whole.
Report Distribution
The report will be the shared IP of GainingEdge and the Scholar, serving as a valuable addition to the Scholar’s CV and portfolio, and may be posted on the website and/or distributed to the industry in another format, at the discretion of GainingEdge.
Stipend
GainingEdge will provide a stipend to the chosen Scholar during the time of the internship, which will have a fixed term with specific start and end dates. A scope of work will be developed, including an activity plan and expected outcomes.
Mentoring
GainingEdge designates specific team members to help mentor the Scholar, so they’ll have go-to experts always available for ongoing support and advice.
Additional Scholar Benefits
In addition to providing practical project experience, the program is an outstanding opportunity for the Scholar to network with a diverse group of industry professionals. We also encourage networking with past Scholar alumni, and GainingEdge always endeavours to remain in contact with past scholars and aid in their future career success.
