Miloš Milovanović Joins GainingEdge
5 June 2014 | Belgrade
GainingEdge is pleased to welcome Miloš Milovanović as it newest team member.
Based in Belgrade, Serbia, Miloš Milovanović and GainingEdge have a long relationship.
In 2005, GainingEdge CEO Gary Grimmer was commissioned by USAID to help Serbia establish a convention bureau. Milovanović was hired as the bureau’s first CEO when it was established in 2007 and worked closely with Grimmer to achieve the bureau’s vision. Since then, Serbia has climbed steadily up the ranks in terms of number of international meetings hosted. ICCA’s 2013 statistical report shows that Serbia has gone from being last in the Balkans in 2007 to almost tied for first with Croatia in both number of meetings and delegates.
“Milos and his staff have done a great job building the Serbian meetings industry into a Balkan leader and the Serbian bureau is one of the best success stories in the global convention industry.” Grimmer said. “After 7 years there he was ready to take the next step in his career and we’re lucky to have him join our team. Eastern Europe will be a major growth area in the European industry and Milos will help us to strengthen our role and the contributions that we can make in that part of the world.”
Milovanović joins GainingEdge with expertise in the establishment and development of convention bureaus in new and emerging destinations, and with a special interest in building regional business. He completed his Masters at Ecole Centrale Paris and was Director of “Project Belgrade” at Venice Biennale of Architecture 2006. In his previous career as project management specialist he has worked with universities, business associations, international donors and AID agencies creating number of educational and training programs in the hospitality and meeting industry. He has been CEO of Serbia Convention Bureau since 2007. Milovanović can be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org
