Job opening: Sales Manager – Corporate & Incentive

Job Statement:

  1. Performs professional sales management activities to generate and convert corporate meeting and incentive sales leads for the benefit of Luxembourg. 
  2. The incumbent exercises initiative, independent judgement in the performance of sales tasks and project management with consultation with the CEO of Luxembourg Convention Bureau. 

Reports to: CEO of LCB

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Actively source and generate sales leads on forthcoming corporate meetings and incentives. 
  • Assist with the generation and qualification of sales leads for future business events. 
  • Meet sales targets in accordance with goals and objectives.
  • Plan and conduct sales activities including promotions, tradeshow attendances and presentations.
  • Develop, implement and manage strategies to secure corporate meetings and incentives  including:
    • Product development programs to create new products and packages.
    • Development and implementation of incentive & corporate meetings support program.
    • Consult with Marketing Services department to develop specific promotional collateral for the corporate meetings and incentives market.
    • Secure local industry and government support.
    • Preparation of proposals in response to RFPs (Requests for Proposals).
    • Secure facility packages and quotations.
    • Liaison with clients i.e. corporate travel agents, incentive companies, corporate decision makers and event planners.
    • Facilitate and escort site inspections and familiarisations.
    • Prepare and conduct sales presentations and meetings with clients.
  • Maintain accurate sales records on CRM database system including client contact details, event profiles, follow up traces and correspondence.  
  • Prepare and deliver regular sales and activity reports as required.
  • Prepare and deliver handover briefs on events secured for the servicing team, keeping accurate records of commitments made to clients during the sales process. Introduce clients to servicing team during handover phase. 
  • Provide assistance and input into the sales and marketing plan, as required by the CEO.
  • Maintain close liaison with local industry, internal departments and clients during the sales process.
  • Gather and record market intelligence and competitive information.
  • Send sales leads to industry partners and coordinate their responses to clients.
  • Keep up to date on Luxembourg’s MICE products and services through industry product presentations, site visits, research and industry meetings.
  • Respond to corporate meeting and incentive enquiries.
  • Provide handover briefs to event support team members for corporate meetings and incentives secured for Luxembourg that require event support.    
  • Provide support for other MICE related activities as directed by CEO
  • Support all convention bureau activities and projects as requested by CEO.

Skills and Competency Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in sales and marketing, preferably specialising in the MICE, tourism and/or hospitality industry. 
  • Knowledge and expertise within the MICE industry and of Luxembourg’s MICE products and services. 
  • Knowledge and experience with the corporate meetings and incentive market; established network in key markets would be beneficial 
  • At least three years experience in a sales or business development role, preferably within the MICE / hotel industry. 
  • Superior communication, presentation and negotiation skills. 
  • Computer literacy in all Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Power Point and CRM database experience.
