GainingEdge and InterVISTAS Announce New Consulting Partnership for the Americas

Global consulting companies GainingEdge and InterVISTAS Consulting have announced a new partnership for providing convention and tourism related consulting services in North and South America.

The new partnership results in the opening of a new GainingEdge office in Vancouver, BC, Canada that will provide consulting services as GainingEdge Americas. InterVISTAS also has offices in: Washington, DC; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Sao Paulo, Brazil. GainingEdge Americas will operate as a subsidiary to GainingEdge and is an equal partnership between the two companies.

GainingEdge CEO, Gary Grimmer said that the development of a permanent presence in the Americas was a major strategic step for the company.

“We are supporting clients in every part of the world, however, we realized that without a permanent office in the Americas our opportunities to engage there would be limited.” Grimmer said. “While we have two team members in the US and a permanent team member in Brazil, our view was that we needed a larger team in North America to become more engaged there and to also develop projects in Latin America.”

Grimmer said that the partnership with InterVISTAS grew out of a collaborative relationship on other projects, including the newly developed global DMO benchmarking project called Arena – a partnership that also includes simpleview.

“InterVISTAS is a great company. They are a world leader in aviation consulting, but, also have done a lot of projects in tourism and the convention and meetings space. Through them GainingEdge is enhancing its capabilities and sophistication through our new connection to the economists and analysts on their team. By joining forces with InterVISTAS in the Americas we immediately ramp up a more significant presence and greater service capacity.”

InterVISTAS Executive Vice President, Paul Ouimet said that he viewed the partnership as a way to expand its participation in services to the convention industry. “We believe that combining the skill sets of our two companies will provide significant value for clients in the tourism industry.”

“We see GainingEdge as major leader in the consulting market for international conventions. Having done our own projects in North and Central America, we felt that we wanted to expand our opportunities to serve the convention market. In our view, a partnership with GainingEdge is the fastest path to doing that. The opportunities for synergies between the two companies are enormous.”

The GainingEdge Americas office will focus primarily on convention and tourism consulting projects in North and South America but will also source its own projects and provide support services to other GainingEdge offices on projects in other parts of the world.
