GainingWheels is one of our key CSR Projects. Through this initiative we provide wheelchairs to those without the financial means. Our goal is to provide wheelchairs every year in every place where we work. It is estimated that at least 100 million children, teens and adults worldwide need a wheelchair but cannot afford one. Some international organizations believe that the number could be as high as 6% of the population of developing countries.
Since the programme’s launch in Jan 2012, and with the invaluable ground assistance by our clients/contacts, GainingWheels has been positively impacting lives around the world.
The application process is relatively simple and requires a brief outline of the recipient’s needs and circumstances along with a statement verifying that the person does not possess the means to acquire the wheelchair on their own.
GainingWheels supports both temporary and permanent needs. Those with temporary needs simply agree to return their wheelchair to the GainingWheels programme once they no longer need it. GainingWheels then locates another worthy recipient.
