2.   Tokyo public parks now available for events

Due to a shortage of large venues in Tokyo, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has decided to make 11 public parks, and other venues across the city, available to event planners as venues for open-air concerts and other events, music, dance and kabuki performances, or theatrical productions.

The shortage is due to the 2020 Summer Olympics, where some venues have been demolished to be replaced by new facilities, while others have been closed for renovation works.

Reed Exhibitions recently announced its acquisition of the Electronics Manufacturing Korea show and three of the Home Table Deco Fairs held across multiple cities in the country. 5.   JMIC’s “Value of Meetings” Case Study Project

The Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC) is calling for submissions for its “Value of Meetings Case Study Project,” which aims to demonstrate the broader impacts of the business events sector beyond tourism.

To qualify to be a case study, an event must have identified objectives (i.e., what it is intended to achieve) and a way of measuring the resulting outcomes in terms of these objectives. If you are interested to participate, inform the team leaders at UTS (University Technology Sydney) via JMIC or email anja.hergesell@uts.edu.au.
